I grew up near Minneapolis Minnesota and soaked in too many Looney Tunes cartoons, comic books, and local street art sites to come out a landscape artist. So, I chose the next best thing… psychological landscape. I use cartoon, graffiti, and comic aesthetics to explore the world I live in like a brand new wobbly calf. As an escapist by nature I do prefer to create my own worlds or drastically change the spinning rock I currently inhabit. Knowing the rules is useful, but making one’s one rules is rebellion (or monarchy).
I will work with any medium I can get my hands on from a canvas to a life size fiberglass cow. Medium switching has been very helpful in looking at my self and art differently. Lately I have become infatuated with painting on glass. The clean product and backwards thinking are quite appealing, though the hours stack up quickly.
